What made you pursue a career in dentistry?
“Growing up, I was very interested in Science and Math. I knew I wanted to join the health field, and then, when looking into it further, dentistry seemed like the best fit for me. I liked that dentistry allows you to be very detail-oriented. Additionally, it allows you to meet a lot of new people. I usually treat around 20 patients per day.”
What is your favorite service to provide for patients? Why?
“I really enjoy cosmetic cases. Recently, I had a patient come in to get six porcelain veneers for her front teeth. She was already very beautiful, but there were some things about her smile that she was looking to change. It is great being able to help people achieve their dream smiles. Once the treatment was complete, she told me that those six teeth are now her “favorite teeth,” which made me smile.”
What is your favorite thing about being a dentist?
“My patients are my favorite thing about being a dentist. I get to see and treat patients every day that I wouldn’t normally come in contact with. I meet patients from all walks of life and get to learn more about them than I ever would if I were in another profession.”
What is the best piece of dental advice that you have to offer your patients?
“Know your toothbrush! Many patients do not use the Sonicare Electric Toothbrushes properly. With electric toothbrushes, you do not need to scrub your teeth with them like you would with a traditional toothbrush. If you hold the brush over the tooth, it will rotate on its own and ensure your teeth are cleaned properly.”
What is a fun fact about yourself that many patients do not know?
“I am getting married this year after having to reschedule several times due to the pandemic. My fiance’s name is Mike, and we are getting married at my family’s church in Little Italy. Our reception will be taking place at the Belvedere Hotel. We will have all kinds of food at the reception, including charcuterie boards on every table. It has been very challenging to plan a wedding during this time, but I am looking forward to it.”
