  • Tooth crowding
  • Spaces between teeth

  • Crossbite

Benefits of Choosing Invisalign

Straightening your teeth will support your over-all oral health and will give you a beautiful smile. When deciding how to get those straight teeth, choosing Invisalign over metal braces offers so many more benefits. The fact that they are removable and clear is the major reason people prefer them.

You will simply remove the Invisalign clear aligners to continue brushing and flossing daily as you normally would.

This also allows you to eat normally, without restrictions and not have to deal with getting food trapped between the braces and your teeth. Not many people will notice you are wearing them since they are clear and difficult to even notice. Invisible braces alleviate many of the hassles associated with traditional metal braces:

  • No dietary restrictions
  • Easy removal for proper cleaning and routine dental care
  • No food getting stuck in your teeth
  • Discreet treatment and hardly noticeable
  • No risk of tooth enamel staining from permanently attached brackets
  • Shorter treatment times
  • More comfortable and removable

Invisalign® What to Expect

Your treatment will begin with taking digital impressions at our Bel Air, MD area cosmetic dentistry office to create high resolution, 3-D images of your teeth. Dr. Elliott will use these sophisticated images to map out a custom treatment plan that will gently move your teeth into alignment.

We will be able to show you a preview of your new smile and how it will transform over the upcoming months. Your customized treatment plan will be sent to the Invisalign lab where your clear aligners will be created.

A series of custom, clear aligners will be designed to fit firmly against your teeth and to avoid irritation of your lips, tongue, and gums. We will contact you when your first set is ready and give you specific directions of how to wear and care for them. Most patients will need to change the aligners about once a week to gradually shift teeth into proper alignment.

The number of aligners and length of your Invisalign treatment will depend on the problem(s) being addressed and desired result. Your last aligner will be a retainer, which should be worn as directed each day to keep your teeth from shifting and maintain results.
