Why Choose Invisalign?

As the years go by, advances in dentistry have made it easier to get the white, straight smile many are looking for. At Harford County Dentistry, a Bel Air, MD dentist, we’re proud to be an Invisalign provider. Dr. Melissa Elliott highlights the benefits of Invisalign below. If you think you’d be a good candidate for Invisalign, contact us to get $500 off Invisalign treatment through March!

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a solution for mild to moderate orthodontic concerns and crooked teeth. Instead of using brackets and wires like traditional braces, Invisalign uses clear plastic aligners to slowly shift your teeth into place. The plastic is thin enough to be comfortable but durable enough for everyday use.

The Benefits of Invisalign

There are many reasons why patients choose Invisalign over more traditional methods. First, the clear aligners are a lot less noticeable on the teeth than brackets and wires. They’re fitted specifically for your teeth, so it’s unlikely people can tell you’re wearing them unless someone is really looking.

Though you do have to wear them about 22 hours a day, Invisalign aligners are removable. You don’t have to give up any foods because you can take the aligners out to eat. Certain foods have to be avoided with braces because they can get stuck in the metal or break wires. Instead of figuring out how to brush in between new nooks and crannies with braces, you can also take out the aligners to follow an oral healthcare routine.

Aligners are much more comfortable than traditional braces can be. Wires and brackets can irritate the skin and soft tissue in your mouth. Wax has to be put on the outside of some areas to avoid them cutting into the interior of your cheeks and lips. Aligners are form-fitted to your smile and don’t have any bulging pieces that can cut into you.

Lastly, Invisalign usually has a shorter treatment time. You also don’t have to go to the dentist or orthodontist as much as you would with normal braces. They require a professional to tighten the wires once a month to continue to shift your teeth. Invisalign has aligners that are slightly different and you change them about every two weeks to shift your teeth into place.

Getting Invisalign From Your Bel Air, Maryland Dentist

Another benefit to getting Invisalign from our office is that you can get digital impressions. We have the technology to avoid messy, uncomfortable impressions. The custom clear aligners will be made and you’ll change them every few weeks. You’ll have a few visits to ensure things are going smoothly, and usually, treatment is done within 6-12 months!

Come to Harford County Dentistry for Invisalign before the end of March and receive $500 off your treatment. Call us or schedule a consultation online.
